Belle Isle
Today my friends and I went for a tour of Belle Isle, or Belle-Île-en-Mer as it's officially known-(in English, beautiful island on the sea.) Below I am standing at the exact spot where Monet, one of my favourite artists, in 1886, created this stunning painting of the twin spires.

The Atlantique

Citadelle de Belle-Île-en-Mer. The 466 year old fortress
stands guard at the entrance to Le Palais harbour.
Notice the cannons atop the wall.

The citadel wall must be at
least 100 feet high.
